You can design any interface, any UI that you want on both platforms. That doesn't mean you can't use Windows for it, you absolutely can. However, I believe that for this type of work, for web design, macOS is better than Windows. I grew up with Windows and PCs and I have two PCs at home running Windows and Linux, and overall, I love it. That doesn't mean I don't like Windows or I don't like you, that's not true. As you probably realize by now, this class is about setting up macOS for web design. Before I get into the main content, I wanted to address this quick video to all the Windows users who are watching us. A Quick Word for Windows Users: Hey, welcome to the first lesson of this class. If you're a Mac user, you can jump straight into lesson number 3 where I will show you what design software I use to create all of my designs nowadays. Lesson number 2 is dedicated to you, to the Windows user, and that's where I go over my reasoning for choosing macOS over Windows for this type of work. Now, this class is mainly addressed to Mac users, but I think you should still watch it even if you're using Windows because you might find some compelling reasons for switching to macOS for web design. In the final two lessons, I will show you how to measure any distance or dimension on the screen and also how to take great screenshots and share them with your team or clients. You will also learn how to manage and organize your icons so that you can always quickly find the ones you need. I'll also show you how to organize, bookmark, and preview your fonts much easier this is so useful for designers because it's a huge time-saver. You will see some amazing apps for picking colors, creating color palettes, and also checking for the contrast between colors so that you can make sure your designs are accessible. I will show you what design software I use and also a few alternatives, as well as short pros and cons for each. They've made a significant difference for me and I believe it will be the same for you. In this class, I'm going to show you the apps that I use almost daily. If you're a more experienced designer, then you might find some apps that are actually very useful but you had no idea about.
